Miss Korea I'm Mae by insiteTV

Chanced upon this special web series about a Singapore girl staying in Korea for 2 months
when I was browsing for Korean Make UP tutorals.

Miss Korea I'm Mae
Complete Video Playlist: Episodes 1 to 12

At first I thought it was about a Korean (Pagent Queen)
staying in Singapore, coz Miss Korea right?
But anyhow, it's the other way round. A "Miss" from Singapore in Korea.

Miss Korea I'm Mae by insiteTV
View web series below.

It's still being published weekly at the moment and I'm hooked.
Coz the girl being featured is really funny and cute.

Besides, the Korean editing on the videos ise so cool and pretty.

They added in Kpop songs and little cutesy graphics and
sound effects that makes the video very entertaining.

Her name is Mae.
She doesn't censor her thoughts or what she says.
She can be quite tough on the crew with her nonsensical chatter and whining.

Some lines she tends to repeat throughout the show:

"You make me pay everything!!"
to the guest house host and crew.

"You don't know anything!!"
to the PD when she's lost and needs help and guidance.

Super funny and frank!

In Ep 1, she described herself as a blogger and
the crew filmed her going to a clothing store (she owns it I think) and
partying with her friends at Zouk, as well as her hanging out with her bf.

Found out that Mae was actually shortlisted from an audition that was held from Channel M.
She got to travel in Korea for 2 months based on a given budget! Wow, so lucky!

Here's a pic of Mae and her boyfriend Sean.
He looks familiar. Was he from some Channel U Superstar contest?? (Not sure.)

Think this "Web Series" or reality show was sponsored by the Korea Tourism Board to promote tourism to Singaporeans to visit Korea.

In Episode 1, I spotted Hayley Woo in one of the scenes at the audition. See you can catch her!

while at a wishing bridge with love locks.
She wishes to be with him as he is going through a tough time.

Episode 9
Mae decides to visit the Korean Tourism Organisation (KTO) in Seoul to find
out where else she can go besides visiting the capital.
She heads to the main Train Station and goes to Cheoram and visits the countryside.
But alas, she loses her train ticket and
gets stuck in one of the train stations and misses the last train back to Seoul for the day.

Episode 10
Mae heads to Jeju Island with the crew. They decide to go on road trip
by renting a car from the airport. Mae goes horseback riding through
the woods and makes a small hike near the coastal Jerge Village to Hanrim Port.
They end up at a hotel at night and end up discussing the next day's schedule.

Mae has funny communications problems with the Production Director
throughout the trip.
"One Straight Line" sounds like "Australia" to him.
And they have many frustrating and funny moments like these in the car.

Episode 11
Mae wakes the crew up early in the morning and catches them off guard on the video camera.
The trip itinerary for the day is all planned by Mae.
They drive to the coastal area of Jeju for a ride on a yacht with Gkim Yeong Yacht Tour.
On the yacht, Mae tried fishing but was unsuccessful.
However, the Production Director caught a fish with one single try.
The pair of them still have some communication barrier in the car and they bicker in a funny way.

Next they make their way to Dayheeyon Cave Cafe.
It's a secret cafe hidden within a Cave.
So you have to walk through a dark pathway before you arrive at the cafe area.
Mae has ice cream there and comments that the cave is cooling.
Mae gets an aerial view of the area when she goes on sailing through the air on the ZIP line.

The crew embark on their next adventure at Seongeup Folk Village
and gets intrigued with the old architectural structures and ways of life in the area.
Notables: Pigs eating poop from the pooping station (toilet) outside old homes.

The sky turns dark and they arrive at the camping site.
Just as they're relaxing and having a BBQ dinner, it starts to rain.

Episode 12
Mae is the first to wake up on her last day at Jeju Island.
She prepares Ramen for the production crew in advance as a kind gesture.
But everyone ends up taking lots of water after having a taste of the ramen.

She spends some time frolicking on the island and heads off to Seoul.
She is seen packing her luggage as her 2 month journey
in Korea is coming to

She says that she will be back in Korea in winter to snowboard with the crew.
There are flashbacks of Mae's past adventures and experiences
in Korea that are touching and funny.

Next scene, the crew says goodbye to Mae at the Seoul International Airport.
They surprise Mae with a parting gift.
It's winter apparel!
Mae finds it's hard to say goodbye.
